Single Storey Rear Extension and Internal Reconfiguration – July 2023

We’ve just completed demolition of an old conservatory and replacement single story extension with Velux and French doors, removal of an old chimney stack, removal of a number of internal walls and remove and replace kitchen and addition of bi fold doors. 

We approached a number of builders for quotes but settled on Renovar after meeting Gavin and feeling that he really understood what we were trying to achieve with our renovation. We were apprehensive due to the scale of the project and did delay and change our plans but Gavin and Spencer were really understanding and gave us the confidence to go ahead and also really honest advice about where to cut back and what to prioritise. 

The quality of work and finish is excellent. Spencer did some of the best rendering we’ve seen, Alan was great with all the plastering and Mike did a fantastic job with the kitchen. 

The guys worked to schedule even after we changed our plans and our neighbours couldn’t have been more complimentary about them. 

This was only phase 1 for us and we’ll be calling on Renovar when we’re ready for phase 2

Double Story Rear Extension – December 2019

Garage Demolition and Side Extension – October 2019

We had our garage knocked down that was in a block and re-built next to the house, with a ground floor room built on the back and cloakroom area.

We met with Gavin and from day one he understood how we worked as a family, what we needed from the team and the building works and ensured we felt comfortable and happy the entire journey. The team are wonderful, kind, friendly and professional. We were kept informed step by step of the building works journey and always had a friendly face on site to ask questions and reiterate what was happening. We cannot fault any of the team, truly wonderful guys. Gavin was also very helpful in putting us into contact with other companies for other works to the property that we needed, this helped allot. 

The building work was good value for money, and finished to a high standard. Adjustments were made without hesitation and we found the team adaptable and able to work with us for a final finish that we are very happy with. 

All in all, we would highly recommend Renovar and would certainly use them again. We thank the team for the work they all carried out and are now enjoying our lovely home.

We would like to thank Renovar for seeing our building extension through from start to finish with unfailing professionalism.

Gavin and all of the employees were incredibly friendly and approachable, showing great willingness to provide us with a workable living space during the works, and being flexible to our requests and occasional indecision.

The works were completed to a high standard, and the house was always left tidy...they hoovered and tidied every night before they left. Keith deserves a special mention, as he went beyond the call of duty on a number of occasions to meet our needs; it really felt like nothing was too much trouble.

People always told us that having an extension built would be a very stressful experience; we can honestly say that with Renovar it was not. I am so pleased with the work completed by Renovar, it really is everything I hoped it would be. All of the work has been completed to a high standard and looks beautiful. The kitchen threw up a few problems along the way and Gary had some fantastic and innovative ways to solve them.

Single Storey Front Extension Creating Larger Hallway and Shower Room – June 2018

We have just completed a ground floor hallway and bathroom extension with Renovar aswell as cosmetic work and block paved driveway to the front of the house and the results are just what we imagined, if not better. 

We were drawn to use them because of their large team of tradesmen aswell as being able to see previous works online, this gave us confidence. 

The build itself went up quickly and despite two lots of heavy snow followed by a heatwave, the build stayed relatively on track. Every person that worked on the build was hardworking and friendly and the finish from all the different tradesmen was always high. We had a couple of unforeseen issues as you expect but these were always explained and dealt with quickly and fairly, often ending with a better result than planned anyway. 

We would definitely recommend Renovar.

Rear extension creating larger lounge - October 2017

We are extremely happy with the extension built by Renovar. 

The workmen were all very friendly and courteous to both me and my wife and we felt happy to leave them in the house whilst we were away. 

The work involved building a new extension to our lounge, removing a supporting wall and opening the lounge into a large open space. This required the installation of two very large steels (approx 6 mtrs and 5 mtrs), a vaulted ceiling and large sliding doors to the garden (approx 5 mtrs). I felt completely confident of their ability to complete this work which, although there was an inevitable amount to dirt and dust, was carried out, were possible, with the minimal disruption to us.

I would not hesitate to recommend Renovar.

"Having recently completed a project with Renovar I cannot recommend the company highly enough. Professional at every step of the build I wouldn't hesitate to contact them in the future for any renovations.

Our build consisted of removing an existing pitched roof/loft space and replacing with a timber frame extension over our garage. The space added a bedroom, ensuite, a dressing room connected to the master bedroom and a cloak room downstairs plus utility area within our garage. The proposed time scale was 12 weeks and we were all wrapped up almost to the day.

All of the meetings in the run up to the start date were professional yet informal so we felt Gavin and his Project Manager, Will really understood what we wanted to achieve from the outset but also how it would interfere with our daily routines and family life with small children to consider.

All of Renovar's employees were friendly, courteous and respectful and their workmanship is of a very high standard. Any minor snagging was dealt with immediately once the build was complete with calls, texts etc always responded to quickly.

Side Extension - June 2015

We would be happy to give renovar a glowing review after they built our side extension and did the difficult job of also fitting our Bi folding doors.

After having a few quotes for our building work we knew straight away that we wanted Gavin and the team to complete the work. Not only was their price the most competitive but Gavin was very approachable and honest about what would need doing and explained fully the costs of things.

The team bought their own fridge and kettle with them and set up camp in the garage and to be honest we did not even know they were there until they had to knock the wall through.

Gavin and Will were extremely thoughtful and left us a heater for when we got home one evening as it had been cold and we had no heating downstairs. They worked around my oven in the middle of the room for as long as they could so that I could still cook us dinner and I can’t thank them enough for helping us have a little disruption as possible while they made our house amazing.

Gavin had to put up with us changing our minds on things as the build progressed and we could see what it would look like, we were only charged as each stage of the build was complete so we could keep an eye on our budget and add on things we wanted.

I could go on and on singing their praises as we love our new house and proof of this would be that they are currently working on a huge extension for very close friends of ours through recommendation.

Thanks again for making what could have been the most stressful time ever exciting instead! Our house looks beautiful.

Renovar began work on the 21st July 2015. I requested quotes from 3 different builders and I found renovars to be the most detailed and thorough. The works were broken down into various stages and any amendments were taken on board with an updated quote and timescale.

The project was set for 12 weeks and this target was achieved even with some poor weather. The team were happy to come on Saturdays to keep on track when challenges presented themselves as they do with such a big project.

I would suggest any client would get on well with all of the team and felt I could trust them at all times. I liked that payments were staggered and only invoiced when each stage was completed to satisfaction. Throughout the build suggestions were made which hugely improved the overall finish at little cost. Lastly, our house was kept as tidy as possible and even my neighbours commented on how tidy they kept our driveway and surrounding area. 

I would happily recommend renovar to anyone seeking a trusted and quality builder.

Due to adverse weather conditions there was a slight delay during which they kept me fully posted.
